I am always so ambitious as the end of the year approaches. Suddenly, I become convinced that I can reach all of my goals by December 31, although I didn’t work very hard on them throughout the year.
For example, around December 10 I realized I only needed to read ten more books to reach my reading goal.
“That’s easy,” my best friend said. “Just find a series to hyperfixate on and binge the entire thing like you usually do.”
As usual, she was right, and this week I found myself accidentally reading Regency romance until three in the morning. Oops.
But perhaps like many of you, the media I’ve consumed recently has changed. I don’t think it’s reasonable or even possible for the media I consume to perfectly align with my values or my politics, but I’ve become more intentional.
